Strategy Is Not An Afterthought. Neither Is Experience

At Money Counts, the belief is simple. Every business deserves a clear strategy, built on financial reality, and guided by someone who has actually lived the journey.

What Good Advisory
Actually Looks Like

Great business strategy starts with one question. What does success look like for you? Not the generic version. Not the industry benchmark. Your version. From there, everything else follows. The framework, the financial plan, the KPIs, the decisions. All of it flows from a clear and honest answer to that one question.

That is the foundation of every engagement at Money Counts. Define success first. Build the strategy second. Execute with intention third.

Strategic planning is not a document that gets filed away. It is a living framework that guides decisions, measures progress, and adapts as your business grows. That is what Money Counts builds with every client.

The Person Behind The Strategy

Corey DeJean has spent 35+ years in business, building companies, navigating complex financial decisions, and advising entrepreneurs through every stage of growth. She is the founder of both Money Counts Business Strategies and CJDJ Accounting Services, and she brings the same grounded, no-nonsense approach to every client engagement.

Her path has not been linear. She has built businesses from scratch, made the hard calls, learned from the ones that did not go as planned, and rebuilt with better information. That experience is not incidental to her advisory work. It is the whole point.

Corey's framework for every engagement is built around three core pillars: Money, Operations, and People. When those three things are aligned and moving in the same direction, businesses grow. When they are not, that is usually where the real work begins.

Backed By Global Standards.
Grounded in Canadian Business.

Corey is a Certified Professional Business Advisor and the Canadian Chapter President of the Institute of Advisors, representing a worldwide community of professional advisors committed to elevating the standard of business advisory services.

She brings globally recognized methodology to her advisory work — including the Institute's 8 Step Growth Plan and the GrowthWheel framework, in which she is a certified advisor. She is also an affiliated member of the Business Continuity Institute.

These are not honorary titles. They represent an ongoing commitment to professional excellence, global best practices, and a standard of advisory that goes well beyond a conversation over coffee.

Where it all Started
Before Money Counts, there was CJDJ Accounting Services. Corey's established accounting practice has spent years serving Canadian incorporated businesses with bookkeeping, GST/HST, and year end reporting.

CJDJ is where the numbers are kept clean. Money Counts is where those numbers become a strategy.

Two businesses. One advisor. A complete picture.
